RACE MERLOT 2015

“Hand selected fruit from Peconic Bay on the eastern end of the North Fork, Long Island. Vines are 20-30 year old vines. Approximately 350 cases were produced. The wine aged in 50% neutral and 50% new French oak barrels. The winemaker is Gregory Gove, former winemaker at Pellegríni and Peconic Bay. He was also the head cider maker and helped the River Head cider project get off the ground. “Race” is an independent label/project. Greg uses the facilities at the Premium Wine Group our east to produce the wine. When he’s not making wine, he enjoys sailing (hence the name and label). The flags on the label spell out the word “Race”. “
