“Owned and operated by Alain Meunier and his wife Sophie, domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron is one of the recognized stars of Burgundy. It offers wines which are elegant, with expressive fruit and fine balance. While the purity of the fruit allows these wines to be enjoyed young, they also have excellent ageing potential. They range from a delicious Cte de Nuits Villages les Vignottes to the rare grand cru Romane Saint Vivant and this superb Clos Vougeot , through perfumy Chambolle-Musigny Village and first cru, a classic Nuits Saint Georges Village Les Fleurires as well as two excellent Nuits Saint Georges first crus : Les Chaboeufs and Aux Boudots, and a beautiful Vosne-Romane 1st Cru Les Beaux-Monts. Their very good Bourgogne Cuve Jeunesse is a great introduction to the domaine. As of the 2010 vintage, they will also offer two Cte de Nuits La Montagne, in red and in white.”
